As a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) that provides third party loan servicing and advisory services involving financial matters of a clients’ customers and/or members, we are required by Federal law to inform our clients of Octant’s policies regarding the privacy of our client’s information.
Types of Nonpublic Personal Information We Collect
We collect nonpublic personal information about our clients that is provided to us by our clients or obtained by us in the course of providing financial advisory and commercial loan management services requested by our clients. This information, in some cases, includes information about our clients’ personal finances and property.
Disclosure of Information
We disclose nonpublic personal information about our clients only to individuals or entities necessary in order to provide our clients with the services they have requested. For instance, our staff may have access to our clients’ customers or members nonpublic, personal information in order for us to efficiently provide financial advisory or commercial loan management services. In some situations we may provide information to another organization (such as another client interested in participating in a loan) in order to satisfy the client’s need. At all times, however, we do not disclose, without our clients’ prior permission, nonpublic information that is protected by law. Within this context, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients to anyone, except as necessary to provide our clients with the financial advisory and commercial loan management services that they have requested. We require all our employees to sign and abide by our Client Privacy Policy.
Clients Have The Right to Prohibit Disclosure
If for any reason our clients do not want us to provide nonpublic personal information about their members or customers to other parties in the course of providing our services, they may direct us not to make those disclosures. If a client wishes to direct us not to disclose information, we invite that client to advise us to not to disclose such information.
Our Clients’ Privacy Is Important to Us
We retain records and files relating to the professional services our clients ask us to provide. In order to guard our clients’ nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with the industry best practices. If you are a client of Octant, please call us with any questions that you have about protecting your privacy.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
Octant reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. We will modify the website to reflect these changes.
